For grown-ups: what this covers
Each game follows the Key Stage 2 maths programme of study for England. The year group switch sets the level: Years 3–4, Year 5 or Year 6. Many UK schools now teach "maths mastery", which grew out of teacher exchanges with Shanghai from 2014, and these games use the same methods.
- 乘法口诀 Times Tables. Year 3 tables (2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10), then all tables to 12 × 12. Year 6 mode copies the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check: 6 seconds per question, with missing numbers and division. Answers show the matching line of the Chinese times-table rhyme.
- 竖式 Column Methods. Formal written addition and subtraction, one column at a time from the ones. Carries and exchanges are shown as they happen; Year 6 includes subtracting across zeros.
- 巧算 Clever Calculating. Mental strategies: bonds to 100, adding 9 as "add 10, take 1", compensating with 99, and making 100 or 1,000 with 25 × 4 and 125 × 8.
- 数位 Place Value. The value of each digit and rounding on a number line, up to 10 million and three decimal places in Year 6.
- 分数 Fractions. Naming fractions, shading equivalent fractions, comparing, fractions of amounts, and adding fractions with related denominators.
- 线段图 Bar Models. Word problems drawn as bars: part-whole, comparison and, in Year 6, the "units" method for multiples and ratio.
- 百分数 Decimals and Percentages. Hundred squares for tenths, hundredths and percentages, then percentages of amounts.
- 面积 Area and Perimeter. Counting squares, then using length × width, then L-shapes made of two rectangles.
Stars are saved on this device only. A wrong answer has no penalty; the game gives a hint and lets the child try again.
